The Violent Roach is an enemy found in both EarthBound and Mother 3. In EarthBound, it can be found in the tunnel from the Grapefruit Falls to Saturn Valley, and in Mother 3, it can be found in the Osohe Castle and the Death Desert. It is not much of a threat, but it has an attack where it "spreads its wings," which causes solidification. It may waste a turn by "knitting his brow". As it is an insect enemy, it can be damaged with bug spray. They are fairly weak enemies and can be easily defeated with PK Freeze. There is also a small chance they will drop a Secret Herb in EarthBound.
In Mother 3, its battle sound is Battle Sound 29, a battle sound used exclusively by spud bugs and roaches, which falls under Code Numbers 523 for regular attack, 524 for Smaaaash! and 525 for Miss.
