Clyde Mandelin, better known by his screenname Tomato, is a professional language localizer, best known within the Mother fan community for his founding of Starmen.Net and his involvement with The Unofficial Mother 3 Fan Translation.


Mandelin graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Japanese at the Arizona State University of Tempe, Arizona in 2002. Between 2000 and 2001, he also spent a year studying intensive language, culture, and Japanese history at the Tokyo International University in Kawagoe, Japan. Following this, he took up occupation at FUNimation Entertainment, translating Japanese animation, movies, short films, commercials, songs, interviews, DVD extras, radio broadcasts, scripts, manga into English. In 2004, he was hired by Babel Media, Ltd. to translate Japanese video games and game-related material.
