Shōgo Sakai (酒井省吾 Sakai Shōgo) was the composer for Mother 3. Sakai has composed for recent Kirby games, Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Smash Bros. Brawl.
In an interview with Shigesato Itoi, he says that Sakai was in charge of composing all 250 of the game's soundtracks.
