Cuddle Bombs are enemies that appear in Mother 3. They appear to consist of gray metal stalks for legs and arms, and red spheres for a face, body, and hands. These enemies appear near the end of Chapter 7 north of Argilla Pass. Players wishing to completely avoid battles with Cuddle Bombs can avoid being chased by the enemy by tapping the control pad briefly over and over again to move. Although the player characters will move very slowly, the enemies will make no move to follow them, simply turning to watch them pass.
Cuddle Bombs are capable of throwing Bombs and sometimes Super Bombs. They can attach themselves to a random party member, and begin to count down each turn until they detonate. Despite supposedly being a bomb, it does not explode upon death, even if attached to someone.
Trivia
- Cuddle Bombs mimick some of the attacks mentioned in EarthBound. The 'suicide' action was likely taken directly from the Robo-Pump enemy in Moonside.
- Cuddle Bombs look like the Care Free Bombs of Earthbound's Magicant. Their structure is somewhat similar, and they both inflict explosive damage to the party by throwing bombs.
