Chimeras are enemies in Mother 3. They are hybrids designed by Dr. Andonuts during his time forced to work as head scientist for the Pigmask Army. As chimeras have been corrupted by the sinister army, most act as threats to Lucas and his friends throughout the game, although some such as Dryguy, the Bucket Brothers and Mr. Pump can be beneficial to the party.
As the Pigmask Army got better at creating chimera, how they vary can change as the game progresses. The first chimeras were either a mix of two animals (e.g. cattlesnake) or an animal with small parts of its anatomy replaced by robot parts (e.g. Reconstucted Caribou). But by the time Lucas and the others got to the Chimera Lab, chimeras also include almost robotic creatures (e.g. Almost Mecha-Lion) and mixes of several animals (e.g. Ultimate Chimera). When they got to New Pork City, there are even chimera that are technically more like robots (e.g. Mecha-Lion).
